Zoom Interview Tips

Did you land an interview and now prepping for it? Is it a Zoom or virtual interview instead of in-person right now?

Because of COVID-19, many families are moving first time interviews to a Zoom call before meeting you in person. To help you be prepared here is a list of things you MUST do!

*Find a quiet room

*Be on time

-Make sure your camera is on and your mic and speakers

-Don’t log in early you could interrupt another interview.

-Set a timer and log in at the 1 minute mark

-Wear headphones if possible to avoid the lag in conversation and the echo

*Get rid of distractions

Turn off your notifications on your computer and phone

Make sure anyone else you live with is aware that you are in an interview

Silence your phone

*Dress for success as if you’re meeting in person

*Eye Contact and Head Nods

-Many think that by looking at the computer you are making eye contact when in fact you need to look at your camera.

-Use head nods so that your prospective employer knows you are engaged in the conversation.

*Take notes and ask questions just like you are in a person to person interview.

*When the interview is done ASSUME your camera, mic and speaker are still on!!

We wish you the best of luck in your Zoom interview and hope you land your dream position!
